Who wants to trade field recordings? I’ll send you a cassette of the ambient sounds of my neighborhood if you send me one of yours.

Bought a peculiar looking record at a little knick knack store in the middle of the woods on Bowen Island. When I got home I discovered it was a rare private press Canadian folk psych record worth 1000x what I had paid for it.

(SOF Postcard)

Every summer as a kid my parents would rent a beach house on Moody Dr. in Flagler County and we’d stay there for one week. One of the things we would do would be to take a little boat over to this fort, and walk around the fort, and talk about the fort and look at the fort, etc.. We knew the boat captain and he would always give us spanish bread that he had on board with him.
The funny thing was that this little trip to the fort was so uneventful, but we would return year after year just because it was a thing to do. Some of my favorite memories from childhood are from those summers at the beach.
